DEFENSIVE BARRlERS is a modern gabion primarilyused for flood
control and fortifications.lt is made ofa collapsible wire mesh
container and heavy dutyfabric liner, and used as a temporary to
semi-permanent levee or blast wall against explosionsor small-arms.
It has seen considerable used in lragand Afghanistan.
The main advantage of defensive barriers, stronglycontributing to
their popularity with troops andflood fighters,is the quick and
easy setup.Previously,people had to fill sandbags,a slow
undertaking, withone worker filling about 20 sandbags per
hour.Workers using defensive barriers and a front endloader can do
ten times the work of those usingsandbags.
Material: hot-dipped galvanized steel wire or zinc-aluminum alloy steel
wire.
Wire diameter: 4mm or 5mm.
Mesh size: 50*50mm,75*75mm,76.2*76.2mm,50*100mm,100*100mm,ect.
Geotextile: heavy duty non-woven polypropylene,weight can be 250 g/ m².

Installation Procedure
All KN products are pre-as-sembledand delivered palletised with
joining pins,to enable the connection of individual units,which can
then be filled with availablematerial using minimal manpower
andcommonly available equipment.
Assembling the bastion entails unfolding it andfilling it with
sand, soil or gravel, usually usinga front end loader.The placement
of the barrieris generally very similar to the placement of
asandbag barrier or earth berm except that roommust generally be
allowed for the equipmentused to fill the barrier.
